Nick Saban is widely regarded as the greatest college football coach of all time. But, perhaps his greatest contribution comes not from the awards and accomplishments but from the consistent lessons he preaches in between plays. In this presentation, participants will outline the surprising parallels between Saban’s approach and the pedagogical methods that enhance our teaching practice. Among others, attendees will lean into the core of Saban’s philosophy—focusing on the process over the product. Motivating, convincing, or cajoling capable but complacent athletes…sound familiar?
